NYC CS FAIR 2019 EVENT SWEEPSTAKES
OFFICIAL RULES
These Official Rules (“Rules”) govern the operation of the NYC CS Fair 2019 Event Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”). The CS Fair is co-hosted by the New York City Foundation for Computer Science (CSNYC) (“Co-Host”). NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES.
DEFINITIONS
In these Rules, “CSNYC”, “we”, “our”, and “us”, refer to the Co-Host and “you” and “yourself” refers to a Sweepstakes participant. “Event” refers to the NYC CS Fair 2019 event held on April 2, 2019 in New York, NY (USA). By entering you (your parent/legal guardian if you are a minor) agree to be bound by these Rules.
2. ENTRY PERIOD
The Sweepstakes will operate only during the stated CS Fair Event hours from 9:30am to 2:00pm on April 2, 2019 to April 2, 2019 (“Entry Period”).
3. ELIGIBILITY
Open to any registered Event attendee 18 years of age or older who is a legal resident of the United States (including the District of Columbia). Minors must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Persons involved in the execution or administration of this promotion, and the family members of each (dependents, immediate family members, and individuals residing in the same household) are not eligible. Void where prohibited.
4. HOW TO ENTER
Registered Event attendees will receive one entry by visiting Event booths and Activities and scanning their own attendee badges. Attendees must get their badges scanned from at least 8 "Company" booths AND 5 "Educational" booths AND 2 "Activities". This minimum of 15 scans as described equals one entry. These thresholds are subject to change during the event at the discretion of the co-host. Any changes to the thresholds will be visible on the electronic displays at the Event.
The entry limit is one per person during the Entry Period
We are not responsible for excess, lost, late, damaged, or incomplete entries. If disputed, entries will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the attendee badge.
5. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Pending confirmation of eligibility, potential prize winners will be selected by a representative of CSNYC or a designated Agent from among all eligible entries received twice during the Event.
Winners will be notified at the Event, and must claim the prize before the close of the Event.
Winners will be notified via the contact information provided during entry and may be required to complete a prize claim and tax form (“Forms”). If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize or fails to return any Forms, the selected winner will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected time allowing. Only three alternate winners will be selected, after which unclaimed prizes will remain unawarded.
6. PRIZES
The following seven (7) prizes will be awarded during one or more drawings throughout the Event:
Two winners will receive:
One (1) Xbox One S 1TB Minecraft Bundle. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $299.99.
Two winners will receive:
One (1) Bose On-Ear Wireless Headphones. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $179.95.
One Winner will receive:
Exclusive Access to a taping of BUILD Series NYC by Oath (Verizon): 5 tickets (including a chaperone), backstage tour, and meet-and-greet with the producer. There is no fee to attend the BUILD Series but backstage access is not available to the public.
One Winner will receive:
Two (2) VR World All-day Tickets. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $120.00.
One winner will receive:
One (1) Warby Parker gift certificate. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $95.00.
The ARV of electronic prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. We will determine the value of the prize to be the fair market value at the time of prize award.
The total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes: $1,174.88
We will only award one (1) prize(s) per person. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except that the co-host reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. Prizes are awarded “AS IS” with no warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties or merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Prize winners may be required to complete and return prize claim and/or tax forms (“Forms”) within the deadline stated in the winner notification. Taxes on the prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who is advised to seek independent counsel regarding the tax implications of accepting a prize. By accepting a prize, you agree that the CS Fair may use your entry, name, image and hometown online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Sweepstakes without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law.
7. ODDS
The odds of winning are based on the number and/or quality of eligible entries received.
8. GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
To the extent allowed by law, by entering you agree to release and hold harmless CSNYC and its respective parents, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, board members, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising in connection with this Sweepstakes or any prize won.
All local laws apply. The decisions of CSNYC are final and binding
We reserve the right to cancel, change or suspend this Sweepstakes for any reason, including cheating, technology failure, catastrophe, war or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that affects the integrity of this Sweepstakes, whether human or mechanical. If the integrity of the Sweepstakes cannot be restored, we may select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Sweepstakes. Rules violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
